I hope all of you had wonderful and special times over the holidays with your families and friends! For Molly and I it's booking season......We've got a few bridal shows we do every year. We did get an invite to the Chico Bridal Showcase this year. So far the response has been fantastic. It appears we will be back next year! We want to thank all of our brides, grooms, moms and dads and all of our favorite vendor friends(you know who you are Geoff) for a very good 2011. Hopping 2012 will be prosperous and fulfilling for all of you.

Here is my first session of the new year. The Gritton Family has been having me shoot thier family photos for a few years now and here's this years offering.

2011 just about over and 2012 is in sight. I remeber when I was a kid thinking how far away 2001 seemed.......And now 2012? The changes I've seen in my life time are really crazy. I took my first pictures in the 60's with this Argus 75, I was 8 YO.....and my last photos on Sunday with this Nikon D300.

Molly just keeps on racking up the newborn sessions. This session with Baby Oliver is one of those friend of a friend connections. Kara is Friends with Andi who's Molly's friend form the Moms group they are both in....whew...and the wonderful little hats are made by Kara's neighbor, Jennifer Judy. Some connections are meant to be.

Christmas Babies are the Best!

Last year at this time Molly and I were expecting our third child....Charles Emmerson. It made the Christmas for us about so much more. So when we found out that our best friends Dan and Andi were expecting during the Holidays we were very excited for them. Here are a few of the photos from her session taken by Molly just a few days after Dani came home.

Family Portraits in The Snow of the High Sierras

Those of you who know me know I'm not an outdoorsy kinda guy anymore. Yes there were days in my youth of camping and hiking and even a few years of hunting deer in Eastern Oregon. But that was 25 years ago. I've been city boy for a long time now. So when I agreed to shoot a family portrait session with Curt and Kelly and all their kids at a lake in the High Sierras of northern California I guess I didn't realize what that entailed out here in December. Sardine Lake is set just outside Sierra City on Highway 49 north of Lake Tahoe. The elevation is around 6000 ft!

You've heard that in business Location, Location, Location.......means everything. So it goes with photography. We were lead into the lake on Snowmobiles/Rhinos by our guides Sue, Tom & and Dan. And after photographing Curt and Kelly and the kids for about an hour or so we settled in to a BBQ. With wine and beer and some good Q we looked out over the lake, chatted a bunch and got to know each other a lot better. At one point a bald eagle fly over the lake looking for a tasty fish I imagine. What a day and one of the most unique and enjoyable times with my camera in years. Thanks Curt & Kelly.....this might have to be an annual trip...Ya Think?

Shooting again at Viansa Winery in Sanoma California, Wine Country USA

One of my favorite locations for portraits of any kind. Viansa Winery & Vineyards.

Even in December the colors are bright and the weather beautiful.

Nick and Ashley will be getting married in the late summer at Family Owned Wooden Valley Winery in Fairfiled California were Ashley's mother is the event coordinator.

There's no doubt we will have a great time in the heat of the summer sipping superb California wine and dancing the night away!

New Wedding Venue In The Sierra Foothils

Last week Molly & I were asked to photograph a new location for weddings. Shady Creek is in the Sierra Foothills just outside Nevada City on your way to Tahoe. Shady Creek has in the past been one of the main Outdoor School camps for several of the Foothill counties and decided weddings would be a great addition the the services they offer.

Recently another Photographer told them The venue was nice but there was nowhere to take good photographs.......Whaaaaaaa?

As you can see Shady Creek has so many places to shoot I'd have been there all day if Molly and I hadn't drug the kids along with us. Shady Creek will be a location that will look good in all seasons because of it's proximity to the the Sierras! Great looking foliage, wildlife and trails will make this High Sierra location perfect year round.

I would love to photograph a wedding in the snow here! It would look absolutely stunning!

Andi, Haley and the Almost here........baby Dani!

Our friend Andi is expecting. She and her husband Dan have been a life saver for us in the last couple of years.Watching our kids when Molly's been in the hospital and when we couldn't find a sitter on wedding days and helping me keep Molly's surprise 30th Birthday party a super secret! And just the usual great things a friend does. We love Andi and her family!

Josh & Amber met Molly at one of the bridal shows and were our first couple to add the new iPad Digital album option in thier wedding package.

My Kids are Damn Cute! Big Duh!

Well Little Charlie Bear is almost 9 months old. We've got a Celebration packed winter ahead of us. Let's run it down by date for everyone......1st we've got Halloween, a major kid holiday.....Thanksgiving with my family in Turlock California, always a food and fun filled weekend. Abby's Birthday on December 14th. She'll be 3 YO. That's a milestone BD. Then Christmas.....maybe the biggest Holiday of all time.....then Charlies Birthday on December 14th, He'll be 1 YO, That's a milestone BD.

Then New years Then on January 9th It's Elijah's 5th Birthday....a real milestone for a kid! So do I need to point out that if any of you are bank managers? I'd like to apply for a line of credit! Ha! It just happens that some years are bigger than others when it comes t the family. We are blessed to have each other and to be celebrating such milestones in our kids lives.

We haven't forgot the two Goiboys up in Oregon. As many of you have heard by now Nathan will be getting married in October of 2012. I'm really excited for him. Check out FB to keep up on those developments as the year goes by. Sean and AJ are kicking it Portland style. Hope to see you guys in December. So as the holidays sneak up on you don't forget to be thankful for your family and your friends, as crazy as they maybe during the year, Family are where we come from.

OK who said Summer was over? Oh I think it was me......

Oh was I sooo wrong! Yea how about the 100 plus temps this last week? 1st week of October and it feels like August in Northern California. My friends in LA had 113...1st time ever...or at least since dinosaurs roamed Hollywood & Vine.

So this week was Chase and Brianne out in the Sutter Buttes for their E-Session. Great Night and great Photos....Saturdays wedding At Lions Gate on McClellan AFB in Sacramento...My friend and DJ Geoff Page Of Entertainment Elements ran the night with music and the MC duties. Wonderful venue...you should check it out.....fabulous food and service...Michelle's staff will make you happy! Nice choice Rei and Emma see you when you get back from your Honeymoon!

The Summer's almost over? Noooooooo!

This Last week we had rain in Northern California.....one day...but it was still rain. I had a wedding on the South Shoreof Lake Tahoe on Sunday and man did it feel like fall! 30mph and about 60cold degrees. It all worked out though.....If it's gonna be cold and windy ya might as well be at Lake Tahoe! Truley one of the most beautiful places on the face of the earth regardless of the season. God di good! Eric and Jeniffer were married at Edgewood Golf Course

right on Lake Tahoe. Despite the weather we had a wonderful time and captuered the day in stunning photos. Thanks to Kaitlyn from Summit Soiree for stepping up and helping out even though she was supposed to be a guest. Thanks for getting everyone were they needed to be on a blustery September day on Lake Tahoe!

Next week I'll be at Mcllelen Airforce Base In Sacramento with Emma & Rei! Until then.

Spring Came and Went.....What was I doing????

Well first off we are expecting our 3rd in late December! We are very exited as you can imagine. But I Think We're done...No.....in fact I know we're done. Molly and I just love kids. Then there was the house remodel then the in laws for Memorial day......And then weddings every weekend in May. What was I thinking? Well it's all done and I can concentrate on the rest of the years weddings.....Here's a few highlights form May.

It's Booking Season!

Well it's that time of year....will we get a good bump from all the Bridal Shows and Bridal Expos? I did my 1st Bridal show this year and landed 4 bookings from it. And we are now listed with www.mysacramentowedding.com and have booked a wedding from our on-line presence there. So trying a few new things this season has paid off so far. I shot a fantastic wedding a few weeks ago in Sacramento. I loved this church. Classic late 50's early 60's architecture. It's so easy to get wonderful photos when the venue loves the lens. Then add a uber cute couple and you can't go wrong.

The kids are growing fast. Abby is now mobile and walks around like a crazy little Girl and Elijah can't hide from her anymore!

Wineries, Tahoe, Tattos and Beer! My Year in Photography!

2008 is in the books! Yippie for me! But already the bookings are coming in for 2009. I had quite the juggling act this year. As you know we have a little one, Abigail who's 1 years old in a few weeks. Balancing family time and photo time was not an easy task. But we made it though the year with only a few mental breakdowns...4 to be exact! 2008 proved to be my most diverse year so far here in California. I was criss crossing California like a mad man on a few weekends. I shot more weddings in Sonoma. and Napa this year as well as shooting down in Paso Robles. Gotta love the Crooked Kilt! Drink up kids!
Again I was in Tahoe for a handful of weddings. I even got to shoot on a private yacht!

I also got to shoot my Tattoo friends again from DDT out in Colusa this summer. Zoe & Pym are inking the world! Got Coors?
I have to throw in a few of the kiddies at Halloween. Abby's 1st and Elijah's 3rd.

Thanks to all of you who I met at Weddings and drank to much with or.......maybe not enough with, you know who you are.....To all who called and booked because you liked my work. I'm not bad for a Wedding photographer...Ha! 2009 should be more fun than a photographer should be allowed to have. So keep the E-mails coming, Drive safe over the holidays. And in 2009 try to live and love long.

New Wine Country? or maybe New To Me?

Paso Robles California...........It's a whole new world of wine country there! Brian and Lisa were married at Meridian Winery on September 13 2008. What a fantastic location. The light was great, the bride was gorgeous and he food world class.

Then this last Saturday Jeff and Jamie in Yuba City California. What a party we had! Some of the craziest dancing I've seen all sumer. These kids are fun and will live long and love long!

Next weekend It's Sierra Nevada Brewery! Yippie! 13 beers on tap at the reception.....

So Many Weddings So Little Time!

I was doing so well with my blog updates.....until wedding season started. Sheesh....Oh well, I'll try to get back on track. I had a whirlwind weekend last weekend. Friday in Yuba City, Saturday in Los Gatos and Sunday a private Yacht on Lake Tahoe. What a way to end the week! Here's just a peek at the week. The Baby's growing faster than I'm ready for. She just started pulling herself up on the coffee table and is now in the stage of putting everything she comes across in her mouth.

Molly's Babies.....

I'm doing great with keeping the blog updated at least once a month! As many of you know Molly and I have two adorable kids....Elijah 2 and Abby 6 months. You can imagine how many photos we have of these two.....a whole hard drive dedicated
to them....It's sick really. Well Molly's moms group was at the house for a play date and some of the moms saw her photos of our kids and asked her to shoot their kids.....

In a matter of a couple weeks Molly's got a half a dozen baby photo sessions booked. Molly is a very good photographer and has assisted me most of last season. She does 75% of my editing and post production. She's wonderful to have in the business. Here's a couple pictures she's taken of our kids and from her 1st baby shoot with Baby Joseph.

Busy Busy Busy......with Life!

Can you imagine how full my life is with a 5 month old, a 2 year old and husbandhood! So I think if I can update my blog once a month....well it's the best I can do right now.

Last weekend I was was up at Lake Tahoe with Robert & Tammy. There are getting Married in August at Creekside Terrace Gardens in Los Gatos. The day was about as good as it gets in Tahoe. 85, clear and not a bit of wind. After a few Gin and Tonics were off for a morning if photos.

Here in Northern California we have the best of all worlds........It's the best studio in the world! Thanks God.

Well You'd think that the photographer would have the best family photos of anyone you know? Well not so. We're usually trying to capture everyone else's life we miss our own. So Molly has been wanting me to take a family Portrait for months. Easter Sunday seemed like the ideal time. Napa Valley!

It was the warmest day of the year so far and a perfect day for a wedding in the Valley. Rachael looked fabulous of course and Justin had a perma grin all day.

The Staff with Auberge Du Soleil couldn't have been any nicer and or more helpful. Truley a five star resort and one of my favorite venues to work at in the Napa Valley. Congrats Justin and Rachael and have a great honeymoon!

Yesterday it was 70 here in Northern California. My lemon and lime trees have new buds on them already....it's spring here already! Sorry rest of the country.....hee hee hee. This month has me at Auberge Du Soleil for Rachael & Jutins Wedding from Reno. A small boutique style wedding at one of my favorite wineries in the valley. Then My friend Pym owner of DDT Tattoo out in Colusa has a 1940's era newly restored pick up she wants to use in her new add campaign. We'll shoot out on the levee and old Sacramento. Should be a great day. The weathers turning and people are ready to get out and about from the long dreary winter we've had.....Reminded me of the Oregon winters I' thought I'd escaped from! he babies getting bigger every week and smiling like the little dream girl she is. Life is good in California!

What a Crazy 6 Weeks!

On December 14th Abbigail Virginia Marie Goiburn came into the world with a smile. After an 18 hour labor...Poor Molly...The baby was ready. 9:00am December 14th in Yuba City California, 8lbs 15ozs and a sleek 21inches! Since then we've had all kinds of family and friends from Oregon come and visit. then there was the storm and no power...Kinda wild few days with a newborn. And then there's the new sleeping schedule. But all in all we're all adjusting pretty well. What a joy to have this little girl in our lives. She makes all the other challenges of life seem insignificant in comparison. We are blessed.

Sunday In San Francisco!

Today we're in the city by the bay....San Francisco baby!.....for an engagement session with John & Amy. We met this couple as a referral from our very first California wedding two years ago. Since then we've shot three other weddings from that wedding alone. John and Amy have since become good friends. We both have babies close to the same age, Zachary & Elijah. So conversation always finds it's way to talking about the kids. Parenthood is a good good thing.

Saturday Off!

Yippie I have a Saturday off! But Sunday back at it with E-Session. Weather has cooled down a bit here in the north end of the state. On Saturday I was at the Sierra Nevada Brewery in Chico Ca. with Jolene and Kelby. What a damn fun location this to shoot a wedding! 11 beers on tap! Love the Big Foot Ale........I was in Sonoma on Sunday shooting a small E-Session with Brian & Mindy. Thier wedding is the 25th of this month in Rohnert Park at the Wedgewood Banquet Center on the grounds of the Foxtail Golf Club. Should be loads of fun shooting there. Until next time.....

Birthday Boy!

Well I'm up in Oregon this weekend. It's my birthday and Molly is throwing me a big bash at The Road House in my home town of Hillsboro Oregon....About a hundred people should be here. I can't wait. Still a few bugs to work out with the new Flash web site, www.tonygphoto.com but all should be fixed this next week. Saturday May 26th it's Miranda and Matt's wedding. It's going to be fantastic. On a private ranch outside Marysville Ca. in the north state. I'll post birthday pics on Monday. Happy Birthday to me!

First Blog!

Well let's get this blog going. Happy Mothers Day! Yesterday's wedding was here in the North State. A little farming community named Sutter, Population maybe 600. Erika & Tracy Kehoe. A beautiful wedding at a beautiful location called The Sutter Gardens. Photos as soon as I get few edited. They had 150 guests but the location can hold, I'd say 300? I'll post images maybe later today or tomorrow. See you then.
